My new journal article “The System of Chinese Strategic Thought" has just been published in Comparative Strategy, Volume 29, Issue 3 July 2010 , pp. 245 – 259.
You can access the article using the link below if your institution has the right kind of subscription (most institutions in Hong Kong have a 12-month delay however).
In view of the difficulty in understanding Chinese strategic thought by the West, this article seeks to provide a systematic overview by introducing two grand schemes that systematize Chinese strategic thought in horizontal and vertical dimensions, namely the Four Schools and the Three Levels of Chinese strategic thought. The two schemes are of great value to the establishment of a general theory of strategy and the exploration of the epistemology of strategy, two underdeveloped areas of Western strategic thought.
